About Pamela
Pamela is a lightweight, modular uncrewed surface vehicle (USV). The USV is remotely controlled from a ground station, and navigates on the water's surface. On board samplers and sensors collect data while the vehicle is underway, or at a desired location.
Frequently asked questions
No. Pamela is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. You can operate it from a smartphone, tablet, or PC with minimal training. It's plug-and-play with no robotics background required.
Pamela supports both real-time sensor data (e.g. salinity, temperature, turbidity) and physical sample collection (e.g. microplastics, plankton). You can customize sensor payloads based on your monitoring needs.
Pamela can be launched from shore, piers, or small boats, and works in both freshwater and marine environments. It's lightweight and portable. No crane, no crew, and no vessel required.
USV Pamela comes delivered in a series of cases small enough to be checked as regular luggage on commercial flights. All components are safe for air travel, as long as batteries are brought in the cabin luggage.
Data from environmental sensors can be displayed in real time (sensor dependent) and logged during the mission. Timestamped data with second accuracy is provided for GPS coordinates, pitch, roll, heading, speed, battery voltage and other technical parameters. All data can be exported from the remote controller using Quick Share.
